Work with large Windows folders in Filed
Use Filed's local Windows file manager for streaming folder entries, filtering, tabs and restored workspaces. Native Shell operations keep file handling familiar.

Choose a local file workflow
Filed is a file manager for Windows 10 and 11, available through Microsoft Store. It works with your folders locally and does not collect file names, paths, contents or usage data. The app has no telemetry or advertising SDK.
It is useful when your work involves repeated trips between large folders and the same set of locations. Tabs and restored workspaces let you return to that set without rebuilding it each time.
Open, filter and keep the locations you need
Open the folder, then filter the entries to narrow the view to the work you need. Filed streams folder entries and virtualizes rows, so its interface does not have to render every entry at once.
Keep source and destination locations in separate tabs or a workspace. Use the view that suits the task: details for comparing file information, or a grid when the visual contents matter. These are interface choices, not a promise about a particular folder's benchmark time.
Use native Windows operations deliberately
Copy, paste, rename, recycle, share, properties and context menus use Windows Shell operations. Check the selected files and destination before a batch action, just as you would in another Windows file manager.
Keep a backup when the work is valuable. A file manager helps you work with files; it is not a backup or version-history service. For an everyday starting point, use a sample folder and build the workspace you want to reopen.
Install from the current listing
Use the Filed Microsoft Store link on its product page. Check the listing for current availability and access information rather than using a copied installer URL from an old post.
Filed is a Windows utility. For monitor routes or optional keyboard and mouse sharing between a Windows and Linux desk, use Moniswitch instead. Different tools solve different parts of the workspace.
