How to check a website before launch
Check what visitors and search engines actually get: index rules, titles, share images, sitemap and server response. Launch Check audits the live page.
Updated October 20, 2026.
The short answer
Check the live page, not your local copy. Make sure search engines are allowed to index it, every page has the right title, description and share image, the sitemap lists it, and the server answers over HTTPS. Then walk through the main thing a visitor came to do. Launch Check covers the first part for you.
Run the check
Sign in, open Launch Check and enter the public address. It checks the server response, index rules, canonical URL, title, description, share image and sitemap membership, plus robots.txt, HTTPS, favicon, structured data, compression, page weight and image alt text.
Fix what matters for this page, publish again and run the check against the same address.
Then test it like a visitor
Open the site on a phone and in a fresh browser window. Follow the main action from start to finish: sign-in, checkout, a form, whatever the page exists for. Open the direct links people will share, not only the home page.
What it does not do
Launch Check needs sign-in and a Creative or Pro plan. It audits what a public page sends; it does not test every access rule behind sign-in, and it cannot promise a search ranking. Use Leak Check before launch to look for exposed files, keys and risky settings.
